繼昨晚台東地上發生6.4的強震後，今（18）日下午2時44分再發生6.8強震，地震深度只有7公里，花東及各地陸續傳出災情。對此，新北市長侯友宜派出新北秀峰分隊即刻前往馳援花蓮玉里。民進黨新北市長參選人林佳龍競選辦公室稍早發出緊急通知表示，因應突發地震各地陸續傳出災情，取消下午的行程，回到選辦公室了解各地災情狀況。

新北市長侯友宜在臉書發文表示，今天下午2時44分台東池上再發生規模6.8地震，強震過後，花蓮玉里傳出有房屋倒塌，新北特搜隊立刻緊急集結、整備完成，一共出動11名警消6名特搜義消，後勤車及71器材車，已經於15:20出發前往支援。目前第二梯次30多名弟兄也正在集結，整裝完備後，將立刻出發馳援。

侯友宜並表示，伴隨餘震風險，我知道強震突發的徬徨和恐懼，衷心為這次強震中所有傷者祈禱，我們都在，願大家平安、無事。

The horn antenna is a broadband passive device, shaped like a pyramid horn, referred to as a TEM antenna, which guides the beam of radio waves at a precise frequency.
